mobile Munch Rewards (βeta)

Welcome to mobile Munch Rewards!

Earn free food by checking in at your favorite food truck events! This guide explains how the rewards program works for both users and vendors.

For Users

What is the Rewards Program?

The mobile Munch Rewards Program lets you earn points by visiting participating food trucks at their events. Collect 10 check-ins with a vendor and redeem a free item of your choice!

How It Works

Step 1: Find Participating Vendors

  1. Open the My Rewards screen from the app navigation
  2. View all participating vendors in the rewards program
  3. Each vendor card shows:
    • Vendor name and logo
    • Current check-in progress (e.g., 3/10)
    • Active event information (if available)
    • Progress bar showing how close you are to a reward

Step 2: Attend Active Events

Important: You can only check in when a vendor has an active event!

  • Look for vendors showing "Event Name - Active Now!"
  • Vendors without active events will show "No active events. Check back later!"
  • Check the event banner on each vendor card for event details
  • Events are tied to specific locations and times

Step 3: Enable Location Services

Before checking in, you'll need to grant location permissions:

Why? Location verification ensures you're actually at the event, preventing fraud and maintaining fairness for all users.

How to enable:

  • iOS: Settings → mobile Munch → Location → While Using the App
  • Android: Settings → Apps → mobile Munch → Permissions → Location

Step 4: Check In at Events

When you arrive at an active event:

  1. Tap the "Check In" button on the vendor's card
  2. The app verifies you're within proximity of the event location
  3. If successful, you'll see: "Check-in Successful! ✅"
  4. Your progress bar updates immediately (e.g., 4/10)

Check-in Rules:

  • ✅ Must be at an active event (between start and end time)
  • ✅ Must be within proximity of the event location
  • ✅ Can only check in once per 24 hours per vendor
  • ✅ Event-based: Each event is a new opportunity to check in

What if I'm too far away?

  • You'll see: "Too Far Away - You must be at an active event to check in"
  • Move closer to the vendor's location and try again
  • Make sure you're at the correct event location (some vendors serve at multiple spots)

What if I already checked in recently?

  • You'll see: "Already Checked In - You've already checked in at this vendor event. Check back for future events!"
  • Wait 24 hours before checking in again at that vendor

Step 5: Track Your Progress

Monitor your rewards journey:

On Vendor Cards:

  • Visual progress bar (e.g., 70% filled = 7/10)
  • Check-in counter (e.g., "7/10")
  • Active event information

All-Time Statistics:

  • Total check-ins across all vendors
  • Total rewards redeemed
  • View your achievements in the stats banner

Step 6: Redeem Your Reward

Once you reach 10 check-ins with a vendor:

  1. The "Check In" button changes to "Redeem Reward"
  2. Tap "Redeem Reward"
  3. You must be at an active event to redeem
  4. You must be within proximity of the event location (larger radius than check-in)
  5. Confirm the redemption

What happens next:

  • A 15-minute countdown timer starts
  • You're taken to the redemption screen
  • Show this screen to the vendor
  • Vendor provides your free item

Step 7: Use Your Reward (15-Minute Timer)

The redemption screen shows:

  • Countdown Timer: 15:00 → 0:00 (changes color as time runs out)
    • Green: More than 5 minutes remaining
    • Orange: 2-5 minutes remaining
    • Red: Less than 2 minutes remaining
  • Vendor Information: Name, logo, event location
  • Redemption Details: What you're redeeming and when

To Complete Redemption:

  1. Show the screen to the vendor
  2. Tap "Mark as Redeemed" after receiving your item
  3. Your check-ins reset to 0/10
  4. Start collecting points again!

If Timer Expires:

  • Redemption automatically expires at 0:00
  • Your check-ins are still reset (can't spam the system)
  • You'll need to earn 10 new check-ins
  • No penalties - just start fresh!

Active Redemption Indicator:

  • If you leave the screen, you'll see "Active redemption: X:XX remaining"
  • Tap "Continue Redemption" to return to the redemption screen
  • Only one active redemption per vendor at a time

Important Legal Information

Experimental Feature Notice

The mobile Munch Rewards program is currently in beta release and is considered an experimental feature. As such:

  • Functionality, availability, and terms may change without notice
  • Check-ins, rewards, and redemptions are subject to vendor participation and availability
  • Technical issues, bugs, or interruptions may occur
  • The rewards program may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, .Enterface and participating food vendors (collectively, "the Parties") are held harmless from and against any and all claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising out of or related to:

  • The operation or use of the mobile Munch Rewards program
  • Any technical errors, malfunctions, or interruptions
  • Any inability to check in, redeem, or use rewards
  • Any disputes between users and vendors regarding reward redemption
  • Any lost, stolen, or expired rewards
  • Any damages or injuries occurring at vendor locations or events

Participation in the rewards program is entirely at your own risk.

Acceptable Use Policy

mobile Munch Rewards is intended for genuine, in-person event attendance only. Any abuse of this rewards point system may result in account removal without notice, including but not limited to:

  • Attempting to spoof or falsify location data
  • Creating fraudulent or duplicate accounts
  • Checking in on behalf of others not present at the event
  • Any automated or scripted interaction with the rewards system
  • Any other activity that undermines the integrity or fairness of the program

We reserve the right to investigate suspected abuse and take appropriate action, including permanent account suspension and forfeiture of all accrued points and rewards.
