ΛΟΓΟΣ (Logos) Prototype
ΛΟΓΟΣ (Logos) is an experimental mobile app, exploring the concept of sharing weekly sermons, bible scriptures, and more.
This case study documents the thinking, challenges, and iterations behind the design and development of the official mobile app prototype.
The Initial Vision
Church communities thrive when members stay connected, not just on Sundays, but throughout the week.
What if there were a simple, beautifully designed mobile experience that gave members instant access to weekly sermons, lectures, scriptures, and upcoming events —> all in one place?
We believed there should be a central hub.
Inspiration
This prototype is inspired by the vibrant and growing community at Victory City Church in Topeka, KS.
Their commitment to accessible teaching, community engagement, and spiritual growth sparked the idea:
What if members could carry their church experience with them wherever they go? Perhaps easy access to information -> anytime?
From weekly sermons to midweek studies and special gatherings, this app aims to support and extend that connection in the mobile app space.
A Collaborative Effort
This is a collaborative project inspired and developed alongside local Topeka (freelance) UI/UX designer Raquel Ceja.
Together, we are focused on:
- Clean interactive design
- Intuitive navigation for all age groups
- A welcoming digital experience that reflects the heart of the church
The goal is simplicity, accessibility, and thoughtful design at every step.
How It Works (Prototype)
-
Access Weekly Sermons Stream or replay recent messages directly from the home screen.
-
Explore Lectures & Teachings Organized series and topical discussions in an easy-to-navigate library.
-
Read Scripture Quick access to referenced scriptures and curated reading plans.
-
Stay Updated on Events View upcoming services, special events, and community gatherings in one centralized calendar.
Everything lives in one place and aligns with existing website content. No searching through social media feeds or scattered links.
What We’re Testing
- Content Accessibility — How quickly can members find the latest sermon?
- Navigation Simplicity — Can users of all tech comfort levels move through the app effortlessly?
- Engagement Patterns — Do members revisit the app during the week?
- Event Awareness — Does centralized event visibility increase attendance?
What We’re Aiming to Learn
Early feedback will focus on:
- Members appreciate having sermons easily accessible without navigating external platforms.
- A clean, minimal interface increases comfort and usability.
- A centralized events section reduces confusion and improves communication.
The biggest priority continues to be clarity, ensuring the app feels intuitive for every generation within the (church) community.
