A Word From .Enterface, LLC
To us, mobile Munch is proof that no idea is too silly to explore. Sometimes the first attempt, you miss the mark. Perhaps no one sees your vision and won't give you a shot to go out and test your theory. I hope that anyone reading this who loves tech doesn't shy away or let doubt cast a shadow on their creativity. Problems exist in many forms throughout our daily way of life, it is up to us innovators to go explore and experiment as much as possible to find wonderful solutions. Even till this very day, we are continuously exploring ways to make mobile Munch better for the amazing food trucks who took a chance on us and the foodies who support us!

In The Beginning
Sometimes inspiration strikes in the most unexpected fashion. As someone who has a passion for coding and programming, I strive to use my skills to find innovative ways to solving everyday problems. The origin of mobile Munch begins with the Annual Topeka Food Truck Festival at Gage Park - a day filled with mouth-watering food, big crowds, good vibes, and one recurring problem.
If Only It Was Easier
The festival had an amazing turnout, with more than 15 food trucks lined up serving their delicious entrees. You could find everything from tacos and burgers to refreshing lemonade. When I arrived, I first noticed the huge crowd that produced the long lines. I was very eager to get some good food and get my grub on. But realized that I did not know what every food truck had to offer. As I set out to explore and find my next delicious meal, I quickly noticed one recurring problem - “I can't easily see what each food trucks have to offer.” To be fair, I am nearsighted (struggle to see from far away). I had to navigate my way around the festival/crowd to go up front to the ordering window to see what was listed. Some food trucks did have an easel with their menu posted, but for me it was still a little difficult to read. I recall thinking that there has to be a much easier way. Growing hangry by the minute, I got in a line and hoped for the best. During our wait and to the credit of my wife, she mentioned, “man someone needs to develop an app to show us their full menus.” It was at that moment that I stopped and said…. “shoot, I can be that someone…”
Let’s Do This
Immediately after the festival, I quickly mapped out a preliminary design and development plan. During my initial research, I learned that the Topeka Fall Festival and the Fall Food Truck Festival at Prairie Band Casino would be happening in two weeks (mid September 2023). Knowing that, it pushed me to quickly develop a working prototype (😵💫 ☕️ more on this later). I was determined to develop an app that was easy to use and that had the information readily available. In less than 2 weeks, I had managed to duct-tape a working prototype and recruit my partner in crime (Jorge Hernandez) to help me pitch this idea to the food trucks at the upcoming events. To say the least, we hit the ground running and haven't looked back since!
Keep On Going!
For me it was a very minor issue during a super fun event that snowballed to where we are today. I look back and reflect on how many hours went into coding and recall my worries - “is this idea any good?” A year later, we are going strong and have our sights set on how we can improve mobile Munch to create a better foodie experience. More so, we are super thankful to have been invited to be a part of the 2024 Topeka Food Truck Festival at Gage Park! The support from the food trucks and community has been amazing and we are humbled and motivated to Keep On Going!
Be sure to download mobile Munch from Google Play or the App Store and let it be your ally as you explore the Food Truck Festival. Also, keep tabs on mobile Munch for upcoming announcements and always remember to update the app for the latest and greatest! munchLove
